The world on two wheels

Iceland 2013

A short, two week exploration of Iceland: a place of raw, rugged beauty sparsely populated by stout, tough, yet modest Viking folk.

During the first week, I rode my bike out of Reykjavik and the to west part of the island known as the Snæfells peninsula. With only one day of sunshine, 250 miles in the rain, wind and fog were plenty for a leisurely vacation, but the landscapes had a stark beauty of their own.

The second week, Carrie joined up as we rented a car to cover ground in the south visiting some of the amazing natural features the island offers.
